23 Apr Murphy Hospitality Group to open Pickford & Black Local Seafood & Craft Beer in Halifax, NS
Charlottetown, PE – Murphy Hospitality Group (MHG) from Prince Edward Island is pleased to announce that they have recently renovated and transformed 1869 Upper Water Street in Historic Properties from Gahan House Harbourfront to a brand-new restaurant, Pickford & Black Local Seafood & Craft Beer. The restaurant is now open for business and is excited for the busy summer and exciting winter ahead!
The restaurant will feature a 135-seat dining room serving the freshest seafood, a large seasonal outdoor patio and many local craft beers on tap. The restaurant will also feature an oyster bar with a variety of local oysters. MHG has hired roughly 80 staff for this new establishment.

We’re all about growth in our organization and Pickford & Black was a quick project, but an exciting one for us. We love the space in Historic Properties, but when the opportunity arose to open up a Gahan House in the Nova Centre, we didn’t hesitate.”
MHG, owned by Kevin Murphy & family, is a multi-unit food and beverage operator with nine restaurants, two hotels, and two breweries out of Charlottetown, PEI, one restaurant in Saint John, NB, one restaurant in Fredericton, NB, two restaurants in Halifax, NS and one more restaurant on the way in Moncton, NB. The company employs more than 1200 people between three provinces. The new restaurant will be their fourth location in Nova Scotia (Barrington Steakhouse & Oyster Bar, Grounded Coffee Bar, and Gahan House Nova Centre, opening in June).
